Quote of the Day:

"I do not want to see any of the people cringing supplicants for the favor of the Government, when they should all be independent masters of their own destiny." ~ Calvin Coolidge

Quote of the Day:

"I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it." ~Benjamin Franklin

A math problem

Question: Three frogs sat on a log and one decided to jump off. How many frogs were left on the log?

Answer: Three

Explanation: Although almost everyone answers "two," the correct answer is "three." Just because that frog decided to jump off the log does not necessarily mean that it actually did it.

Is there a gap between what you decide to do and what you actually do?

Coupon Organizer

Most everyone knows what a coupon organizer is. It is a wallet size organizer inwhich you keep your coupons in order to make shopping eaiser.

I discovered that a customer of mine saves her receipts (as most do and should) but had them in a pile in her purse.

After talking a few minutes, we discovered that she could use a coupon organizer, assigning a different store to each divider, and keep her receipts organized and making it eaiser to retrieve the ones she needs in the event of needing to prove a purchase. It also fits in her purse.

Happy organizing,

Jim

Best Tips for Spring-Cleaning.

by Heloise

Several of the same spring-cleaning questions came up time and again while I was on the radio. So, here are few hints for those who tackle chores with a can-do attitude:

Assemble all of the cleaning supplies and tools you need.

Make a list -- either mental or written -- of what you want to accomplish. Are you going to clean all of the light plates, windows and hard surfaces, or tackle the drapes and floors?

If you are the type who likes to clean your home one room at a time, the rule is: Don't leave until you are done! That means you bring all of the cleaning supplies with you, plus several bags or boxes marked "trash," "store away," "goes to another room," and "give away."

Start at the top level of your home and work your way down.
Don't forget some upbeat music!

Organize and recycle.

I was talking to a friend the other day and she said that she took apart an old waterbed. When she did this, she cut down the drawers and frame to form individual drawer units. She then installed the drawer units in the closet thus allowing her to organize the closet and recycling material that would have been tossed out.

I did something similar using a water bed frame without drawers. I used the boards to make book shelves. They hold up real nice since they are heavy, thick pieces.

Happy organizing,

Jim
